Hi cannot say I have seen one . Possible .
As you say I am busy .
Striped two bed rooms of ever thing . Just walls and ceiling /floor .
Waiting for plasterer to do the artex flattening .
Well this has made the over rooms full , living room has bed and the rest of bits as the ceiling is being done there .
So I slept on sofa . Very comfortable , Dog three cats also find it comfortable . They do not understand difference in space of a king size bed and a 3 foot wide sofa.
They after second night pushed me off by dog sticking my legs off and one cat on chest and another on my arm and the last coming in half way through nigh wet cold paws walking over my face .
So out came the camp bed (well used) . Now that is narrow framed and shorter .
Thinking the animals can keep the sofa.
No . They all piled on the bed with me in it or not . Have now got down on floor thinking more space at least . Might as well be in the cupboard as they still pile on me . So sleep is an excise in it self at the moment .

Have spent a lot of time with the flock and the white ring hens are now feathering up and happier .
Let them loose in the garden as the weather has been pretty good .
6 eggs a day at best .
Have not been to see Desmond for two weeks so must make the effort Monday . House has taken over . Plan is to do up sell and down size and a bit of land .
Going to take time and money but both is possible. Next year changes will happen for sure . Sandy are you busy during the week as thinking I might get across to Bristol during the week day to see you , see the sights as a day out.
Any particular day of the week not working .
So all good and calm at the flock of Penelope and Red , may not be in the big COOP but that is not at the cost of the collective,
Bob
Hope all are well and flocks not suffering the turn in the weather .

Hi all , well all good . Flock have spent a few days in the good limited weather in the garden.
White ring hens are growing feathers and eating well.
2 ring EX blue is eating and drinking and competing for treats .
She has amazed on her bounce back .
molting is happening all around . The last speck had a shake and dashed for the changing rooms as most of her feathers ended on the floor .
4 hens sleep in the small coop rest piled in three decks and the floor in the large one.
Plenty of straw etc going to work veg patch , Have not been to see Desmond for a while . Plan soon , be good to see him again . Hens still know where the cat food is in the kitchen , the new white hen found out in the street on the lawn . She knows to jump the wood and follow the cats gap in the gate. She is the naughtiest of the flock .
Oh to be young again , all good and long may it stay that way .
House re building (it seems like it ) going on . That is a thread in its self . How to wreck home AND REBUILD IT .

Hi all , I am the proud owner of a RAPTOR , afraid of nothing take on all comers . I will be calling my white hen from the Sea side training ground for Topenanal .
She is now chasing my dog Polo (freighted of her own shadow ) , All the cats sneak past or climb fences or make sure she is not in sight and dash for the other side of the garden .Collar doves are feeding elsewhere now as they do not get a chance to touch ground before she is flapping her wings at them . She is even growling through the wire into the garden at them all. She even goes out the front over the board , under the gate and squeezing through the wire .
Well I am re building my home , 2 rooms plastered and roof done , more tradesmen to come . Should not be writing this as on holiday but call pm (late) today to cover half a shift due to some stupid drivers in the Dartford Tunnel.
have a good week plus as back again (Hopefully ) Thurs next week.

Hi all , well I can say that I do not want to be at work , but the good side is I can read and catch up here.
All surprisingly well at the flock of Penelope and Red.
Scramble I think has had a molt , Her top not is white not black and she has a terrible attitude to her friends .
Egg count is 4 a day ......
The new white hen keeps going out the front garden and being chased back .
Jacks old hens are sticking together and not wanting to go back in the run and hanging about their old coop and run .
I have visited Desmond and had a hug . Had a molt and he has one end of the field with a few friends he looks after including a young boy .
Lots of coop cleaning as spending more to time in coops.
Hens staying up late and getting up early in the morning . They have had some freedom in the garden last few weeks , but today is first time locked up all day as at work.
So happy days at the moment .
Bob
PS can I have the sun back please.
(It was only on loan .)

Hi all , just a quick thought .
Non 2 ring light blue hen is still around . She is being spoilt with cat food . Light in weight , but still pretty quick to the mea lworms . Maybe being light weight it is good on her system .
As against me over weight and slowing down .
She does bring a smile to my face when I see her in the morning .
White ring bunch are doing well and getting the hang of getting food on the quick. Do not want to go in to quick when out in garden and getting to know there way around it.

Hi all , well still all good as the flock of Penelope and Red .
Bought a big heavy bag of grit and shell and a huge bag of D E.
All I got to do now is carry it out of the front room to the shed .
Let the flock out for a hour only yesterday in the garden as waiting for the deliveries .
Had fun getting them back in so I could go back to work , just got back as the vessel was berthing .
Ground is wet . Order some more saw dust today .
Lots of coop straw etc , going to the veg patch at work .
Actually saw the sun yesterday .
Scramble is going back to normal , just running about not looking for grief .
2 ring light blue is still being spoiled with cat food , She just hops into the kitchen and helps her self .
Red and friends want to join her but I half heart stop them .
The big hen from Brentwood seems to be nesting in the small coop . Might be broody Keeping a eye on her just in case she is off colour . Couple hens have scaly might legs so greasing them .
Feathers are pretty much grown back now , just the white rings still behind.
For sure they all want out of run and into the garden .
Off till Wednesday morning .

Hi not allowed Hi tech just about have very low tech in my house .
sad news I lost my friend 2 ring blue last night to old age .
She had a good life though sad I rejoice in that she had a good free life as much as possible with me and the rest of the flock have the same experience then I will be happy to have had them with me.
Rest of flock egg resting as 4 a day is what they are supplying .
Scramble is still moulting as grey feathers are still apparent .
Not let out into the garden last few days except for a hour or two yesterday .
sweet corn , cabbage meal worms and pellets , wheat and barley .
Cleaning the coops out every few days now .
Up before the early risers.
saw Desmond on Sunday with food supplies and meal worms .
He seems to have grown huge . He was muddy so did not get a cuddle , although whilst fighting of the alpacas he did get plenty of banana .
I am so happy to go and see him and makes my day . Coming away I am happy and sad to leave him , even though he is in very good hands and company I feel I abandon him to a fate that he should not have had .
Should I ever get to buying some land for my flock , he will be first to come back and join me.
Hoping all are well .
Back again Thursday then Mon and Tues night next week.
White ring hens are great company and always wanting out into the garden even though they should not be .

Hi all , well the flock had 2 huge bags of saw dust spread on the run floor today , mixed in D E . Tossed wheat/barley and meal worms in it.
That should keep them busy and also they can dust bath in it .
This am (left it in the feeders over night ) they must have though it was that special day come early .
Pasta in sauce with extras , cabbage pellets sweet corn .
Early hens will get the treats no doubt.
The flock are looking good and the cold weather is not effecting them to much .
When they have had enough fresh air they go in the big coop and perch or lay in the nest 5 eggs today going up ( by one egg ) good sign as that means the rest will start laying again soon .
There is a hen rescue at Bishop Stortford this Sat if anyone needs some friends .
Off today till Monday night shift so have a good weekend .
Bob
