Forgot what happened last year - maybe it's here!!
Well, I am back from my jollies and can't wait to recover from my jet lag and get out into the garden. The first early potatoes in the greenhouse are like triffids. I have had a walk round and inspected everything but am not up to actually doing anything. I am at work Thursday and Friday then have the long weekend off so weather permitting I will be gardening
An update including a few pics
Firstly the canes put in place for the runner beans
A little help from the girls
The fruit cage, there are tiny gooseberries
Outside, peas, leeks and broccoli
Cauliflower and cabbage
In the PT, cabbage
Radish, lettuce and rocket, already eaten one lot of radish
Tomatoes, lettuce and chilli
In the greenhouse, lettuce and more tomatoes
No photos, but the first lot of early potatoes have flowers.
I won't bore you all with anymore pics tonight
LL, I doubt I will ever put you to shame.
The rain has done the garden good, but now I would like some sun please
The carrots are showing through but don't look fantastic.
The celeriac seeds in the greenhouse are very slow germinating, haven't grown any before so not sure if it is normal.
Green couchettes are panted out but the golden one from my friend is not quite big enough as yet.
I have been given 2 pumpkin plants which are ready to go out and a number of small squash plants but they are still a little small (no idea where I am going to put them all)
So up to now this s a list of what I hope will produce a crop
First early and main crop potatoes
Red and white onions
Hope fully some fruit from the dwarfe trees
for a bumper crop
Thanks Bob, didn't realize I had quite so much until I listed it all. It hasnt stopped raining for 2 days now and it's quite cool, just as I decided to risk it and put my runner beans and courgettes outdoors . Ooohhhh the joys of vegetable gardening, glad I'm not a farmer.
Just noticed the top pic Davina and your girl dosn't look to impressed with you using thier tennis court to grow your beans and onions in Lindaxx
And then there was one, Again!!!!

Remembering Our Beautiful Foster Boys we are so sorry that we couldn't keep you
Linda, she was eyeing up the newly planted veggies
Last week as I was planting up the brassicas it was like a scene from a comedy, I was planting at one end, the girls were eating them from the other, I was shooing one girl away and another girl was sneaking in behind me neighbour was laughing at me
Today I plan to put the rest of the tomatoes into their final place, plant the Squash and pumpkins outdoors.
The sweet corn don't yet look big enough to go out.
The celeriac are only just starting to produce their true leaves.
I think that will be everything for me, unless I come across any cheap plants whilst I am out and about, I will have a tiny bit of space left so you never know
Not done my jobs yet but a few more pics
It has some tiny flowers
Cucumber, seems to be slow growing
Sweet corn in PT, I am sure I will be told they are too close together but it is an experiment to see how they do in there
Chilli plant, although only small it does have some buds
Ok now I need to go do some jobs
Beautiful morning here, GH and PT watered, work calling, but firstly a few pics.
The flowers our fruit and veg produce are stunning, but I don't think I appreciate them enough
Broad bean flowers, with a bee collecting its food
Close up pics
Green house planted up now
PT produce really moving now
LL, the pot is an indoor one, but I decided I had had enough of it and told a friend she could take it to a car boot sale, but hubby commandeered it instead and it had been outdoors for over a year, I am surprised it survived the winter. Now it has a more suitable place, I love growing herbs.
Thank you Angela.
I am sooooooo very excited, I have found my first runner bean flower
