Because of work, then house sit, then back problem, I haven't done any gardening at all for 8 days and at this time of the year, not good news.

However I did manage a bit of weeding this morning.

I couldn't use the hoe, not enough bumph to get it in the soil, so I squeezed the handle of my trowel into a length of 1 1/2" basin sink waste pipe and went from there!! )c(

Looked a bit like Richard Briers in the Good Life !!

Stupid, I had the same thing exactly a year ago and went round making the holes for the Onion Sets with my walking stick :-D

I think you're right Jannie, I am more relaxed, not having to clock watch so much and the must have that done by Thursday because I'm working for five days.

I do miss the Cricket work though - but secondary to one's own wellbeing :-D

I put 9 of my 12 Runners out today, 10 of my 23 Sweet Corn and all 8 Courgettes.
Bit early but they were just getting too big too soon.
Here in Kent we should be clear of frosts first week of May.

Putting the Squash in tomorrow (today) including the one's going in the Compost Bins.

Blimey I'm ahead of myself!!

Image

Growing outside at present..

Half the Sweet Corn
All Corugettes
All Squash (2 to go in Compost Bin tomorrow for growing)
3 lots of rotated Carrots
Red and White Onions (130 odd)
Mangetout
Runner Beans
Beetroot
Broad Beans

It's about this time I start getting paranoid about Rabbits and things !!

Mind you, if something goes wrong now, you can at the worse go down the Garden Centre and buy some already growing.

Here I am, March 2016 !!

Much to do.
My herniated disc has been playing up lately so I'm pacing myself plus only doing about half the area I've done in previous year.

It's that stage when you think you'll never get it organized....but you do !
