Not the most exciting but

Post by Ch1Ck4NDave »

Hello,

Hope this attachment works, I was driving home on Friday and spotted a huge pallet, I thought about this site and decided to pick it up, I got the owners to OK it first then as soon as I got home I ripped it apart and nailed together a compost area, never thought about using a pallet but I think it looks OK, :-D

That looks nice and tidy, does the compost fall through the gaps, or have you filled them in? Or maybe you have your bins in there, can't quite see. :?

No, the gaps were due to a lack of wood as I used some of the pallet to put a 2nd floor in the chicken shed, it actually stays inside, and very little falls out, which is a relief, )t'

If you have some offcuts of carpet, you could nail them to the inside to fill the gaps. )t'

When I first saw the picture I thought you'd built that lovely picnic table :-D

Well, I think it looks really smart - you would pay a fortune for that in a shop.

The gaps allow air into the compost which is good. I never had a proplem with the gaps.

Well done, what a fantastic compost bin! )t'

It's ripping the pallets apart that would cause me the most anxiety. I will have to sweet-talk my hubby into lending a hand. :-D
