I run stupid long distances...

Post by heebiejeebie »

...like 100km races. I'm not fast but I'm determined!
Training is a bit like meditation (just zone out) but with scenery and wildlife to look at.

Well done you, that's fab, it's such brilliant exercise & calorie burner, but very hard to motivate yourself.
My other half used to be a fattie, he was 20 stone, (before we were together) he lost 7 stone & now keeps himself very fit, he's 6'4" & a big frame but can run a marathon in 3 hours & 27 minutes, he was beaten by a strawberry though   he put a bit back on as that was too thin for him, but he always has to fight to keep it off, he likes biscuits too much.

If I run, I get black eyes and bruised knees..

I hate Issac Newton. We ladies of a certain age were fine until he discovered gravity.

I ran into a Bar once - really hurt - it was an iron one.

I've been thinking about 100k. What is it exactly that makes you want to run that far. I mean, it hurts, it must take pounds off you.
Is it personal or competitive challenge?
