Al, when I read the list of "ingredients" for your project I thought you were going to be on Scrapheap Challenge building some sort of eco-car powered by a gas bottle.
If you were, who would you choose to be on your team?

Sorry Sunny I missed your post :oops:
So, scrapheap challenge eh? My first team member would be Dick Strawbridge and if you are a fan of the show you will be familiar with my second choice of Bodger. The rest of the team would be made up by my mates. )t'

I can confirm that the project has been an absolute success but I have lost the lead to connect my phone to the laptop. }hairout{
I will take the posh camera with me tomorrow and post some pics. :-D

Well firstly sorry for the delay but here is a picture of said stove. Since the picture was taken all the old paint has been burnt and wire brushed off it now has a coat of black heat resistant paint.
A word of warning. Gas bottles are dangerous, even when they appear empty they still contain gas. I strongly recommend you get someone qualified to decomision one if you want to try this project.

Fair play AL37, I've seen several designs of gas bottle burners but none like yours.I'd love one for my workshop but my welding skills(and lack of welder) are poor.What did you use for the window?

Thanks demonchille,
Belive it or not the window is a pirex dish. It was fine when I burnt wood and the first few times I burnt coal it was fine but it now has a crack in it. I think I got the stove too hot too quickly which caused the metal to expand quicker than the glass.

The coal might do it evertime,it burns so much hotter than wood.I'd thought of a window from an old washing machine

That did cross my mind Demon. Thing is I can explain why there is one pirex dish less in the cupboard. Why the washing machine door has disappeared could by slightly more difficult to explain. )grin2(
