Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planetRe: Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planetSad news this moring. cat cat seemed to be picking up a bit yesterday, eating a bit more, but sadly she died last night. Sue is very upset and so am I, she lives for her cats.
Re: Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planetSorry to hear that Ilona, hope Sue soon feels better
Re: Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planet
Sue is feeling a bit better now, thank you Perchy. Today I made two trips to the dump for her, she had a tree cut down in her front garden, she had chopped most of it up and it needed shifting. My car is handy for jobs like that, I use it like a van. Reading through Richard's post again, I dont think I qualify for this thread. I only use my car when I have to, or to help a friend out. And of course I am frugal with my car use mainly to save money. I tread lightly on this earth, my footprint is already lessened in lots of other ways. So I think I'll drop out of this because I have nothing to contribute. Ilona Re: Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planetI don't know that I agree with you Ilona...I think you can contribute a great deal to this but in a different way.
What you see as everyday way of living others may have to think about....how many times do you walk when you could use the car? Don't just put down when you didn't use it but when you didn't but could have used it (does that make sense?). It makes people think and surely that's doing you're bit too. ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)✰

Re: Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planetIlona,
As everyone else is doing one where they use their car less to be more frugal/eco conscious maybe you, being permanently frugal/eco conscious, could use the car more and show us how much more it has cost you A sort of anti frugal living, eco, green diary. Dom Ali Woks My World
Re: Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planetDunno if I qualify either ? I am lucky if I put 5,000 miles a year on my car.
But when we can walk, we do. Wendy http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning Re: Ilona - trying to do my bit for the planetI haven't started a thread in this topic for that reason. I do try to be frugal and eco-friendly, (maybe not as much as I did) limit car use by shopping when I'm going elsewhere, offering lifts if several of us are going somewhere. But not because it's Carbon month on DTL. For the same reason I didn't join in much with Richards 'frugal challenge' last year. or in reverse the 'treats Thursday'. (If someone tells me to do something I'll do the opposite!)
Still if it helps someone to start thinking about it, then it can't be bad. Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html
