sounds great. Does it 'taste' of gooseberries, as I don't like them. But if they blend with the rhubarb & cinnamon....then I may give it a go. I will have to wait for my girls to lay some eggs though LOL

Not really but if you don't like gooseberries I would give them a miss.

Can't see why not - I would use any fruit available also, ginger could be substituted for the cinnamon.

How much fruit to the 4 eggs, and how many mouths are needed to eat it?

I used about one and a half pounds of fruit with the 4 eggs - it made enough for 6 good puddings which lasted 3 days. They said in the book to serve it with cream but the meringue (it stayed crisp in the fridge) was ample.

Cooked it last night, as we had friends for Dinner. I made it with rhubarb from the garden and my girls eggs. It was absolutely lovely. Quite a hit, I certainly will do it again.
Thanks
