Woops!
Woops!I've had a nasty cold for 6 weeks now and it just wouldn't go away. I have been nagged mercilessly to see the doctor but what was the point? It's just a cold, albeit a nasty one...
Well having had another almost sleepless night due to a temperature and sinus pain (and cystitis just to add insult to injury!), I have just got back from the doctor. Chest infection, sinus infection and kidney infection (and he said my tonsils were looking very spotty too!) My body is full of gunk Feel a bit of a t*t now but hopefully my carrier bag of medication will kick in soon (just wish I'd gone a month ago!) Lucy x
Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut - Ernest Hemingway Re: Woops!Hope you feel better soon.
Must admit that I go on the theory that most things get better on their own, but if they don't there comes a point where it's worth asking advice. Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html
Sunny Clucker enjoyed Folk music and song in mid-Cheshire Re: Woops!Oh dear, I am afraid I am a bit like that, keep on going until the point comes where you can't anymore, take the meds, keep warm, drink plenty (not alcohol) and keep rested, get well soon
Re: Woops!Oh Lucy you poor lamb but so glad you went to see your GP at last.
Lets hope the medications will all start working real soon. I'm also the worlds worst patient and I'm terrible when I'm ill. Had a rotten dose of tonsillitis then sinusitis earlier in the year, needing two doses of yukky anti biotics urrrgh! Which ones have you been given? I'm allergic to penicillin, so usually get prescribed erythromycin, vibramycin etal which can be a bit hard on the old tummy - I find that drinking a Yakhult every day really helps that though. Trimethoprim is really good not only for kidney things but also upper respiratory/chest infections too (learn't that recently from a colleague ) and it's much nicer on the old tummy. Hope you're feeling better real soon, rest up and take it easy Bev x

Re: Woops!Oh dear, poor you.
As has been said, wise with hindsight. Hopefully you will be on the way to getting better, real soon. http://www.busheyk9.co.uk
If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning
Re: Woops!Poor you Lucy, really hope you feel better soon x
Re: Woops!I do hope you feel better soon. Hopefully the med. will soon kick in.
A lot of us do the same as you, so you're not daft on your own. I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Woops!Aww Lucy. We dont always do what we know we should. Most mums just get on with it and carry on regardless. Never mind, at least you have gone now. You will very likely need to sit down and rest from the shock of the bill at the chemist. Take care and get well soon. Stay on here and chat to us. The doctor said you should rest so you have every right to sit at the computer `resting` and enjoying good company.
lorna I`m not a teacher for nothing, you know!! If I was clever, I`d be dangerous.
Re: Woops!aw nothing worse than a sinus infection, was in agony for months a few years ago, as everyone else has said, take it easy, put yer feet up and have a cup of tea, or a glass or 2 of a very good wine, you need to treat yourself now, and hopefully you will soon be feeling a lot better
Re: Woops! But you know what Lucy all most best of all you can officially give in - what a relief - being a brave soldier is tiring in itself .
It will be alright in the end , if its not alright, it isn't the end .

Am looking forward to welcoming Sunny Clucker to Woodbridge Suffolk!!!!!
Re: Woops!Hope you feel better soon hun sounds like you have it rough at the moment.
I cant help but think that if times hadnt changed so much maybe we all go to the doctor more at the first sign of ill health but the way some doctors treat us is appaulling.. okay not all I did say some .... and it is only from my expeirence sorry if I offend anyone but one of my Gps is a nightmare - if I feel ill I wont even go see him anymore I dont even get to show him my problems before he sits there and says it will go on its own dont worry!! Anyhow at least you went in the end and at least you will hopefully start to feel better now. Andrea- Sunny Clucker fan awaiting her arrival in Kettering,Northamptonshire.
