Post by ChrisG »

Has anyone used soap nuts? If you have, what did you think of them?

I have just ordered a taster pack (no, Im not going to eat them >dum< ) but wondered what they will be like. Any advice?

I've used them. I find them fine for dark colours in the summer. If I'm drying indoors, then I find soap-nutted washing tends to smell a bit musty. Light colours and/or heavily stained things (four children!) don't tend to fare so well. I think I'd use them more if it was just hubby and myself.

Here's a thread that talked about soap nuts a while back.

Hi Ruth,

You may also consider Eco Balls, no soap at all.
