Putting back that teak !
Putting back that teak !You may recall I brought home a few sawn up benches from Cricket last September, there was uproar when I said I was using it as firewood!!
I will admit to burning a fair bit of, just those a bit too far gone. The rest I have used for walk-ons in the muddy parts of the garden, made a short length of fencework and saved the rest for other 'projects'. But, today I decided to gather a load of bits together and remake a bench and a small table which I've placed outside my 'Office', took ages as all were wrong sizes and had been sawn in all the worse places to do much with Tell you what though, they're not going anywhere, firm as rocks. Re: Putting back that teak !Looks like a great place to take a break .. would have cost a fortune to buy garden furniture of that quality .. so glad you decided not to burn it all
Re: Putting back that teak !Crikey is that what you get up to when you have got no plans for the day . I can see you having picnics there before long ( strong coffee and a chocolate biscuit in the meantime)

Re: Putting back that teak !There's one at the Club in memory of my Great Uncle who was a lifelong Member - it's now found it's way to the Players balcony.
As you say, it's real quality. When the Groundstaff said I could have them and take home in the large Club Van I thought they meant complete, but they got a circular saw and just went for it, so nothing the same size, or straight. A lot of the wood, due to how it came apart is split, but I can still find ample use for it. New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome

Re: Putting back that teak !I also agree its better as a bench then firewood, nice job Richard. All that remains is to test it out, with a pot of tea in hand of course.
