Has it only got three corners or started out with four and lost one on the way? Anyway whatever you've done it's a lovely colour - cant you put it on one of the chickens heads and take a picture .. it would look adorable ..

I know!! But I don't know how I went wrong. I did what they said ( I think!!!)

Join yarn (new colour) 1ch, 1 dc into same place (easy), 1dc into each tr and 1 ch sp of previoius round. I have highlighted the only bit I could have gone wrong in. Wheere it says INTO each treble - I did it sort of between each treble not actually into it. How do you go INTO a treble? >dum<

If someone has a clue and can let me know, am going to try again either tonight or tomorrow night, and then if it goes wrong again I will be begging for more help!

I am sure trying to do it from a book is difficult.
My mother taught me to knit and crochet, I taught mine, girls and the boys.
To help me read a pattern and do fancy stitches I went to an evening class. May be worth thinking about if you really want to get into crochet

I think you are right Wendy. I need someone with the patience of a saint to watch me and show me what I am doing wrong. }hairout{

You maybe giving more advice Wendy, my mrs bought some crotchet paraphanalia today, she recons her mam showed when she was a a young girl, I,ve been married to her for 32 years and this is the first time I have heard this, i,ve certainly never seen her knit or do anything "crafty". She going to practice tonight, should be intersting. :-D

Ok, so my daughter came round for supper and I showed her the hamster hat with ear flaps. I also got an order from my grandson for another so they can be made into ear muffs :shock: (Not that I would ever be able to make one the same again!)

Anyway, in under an hour she had produced what I have been trying to make for days. The photo shows it, with my hamster hat on a 'Wallace' salt pot, and my latest reworked attempt. :?

That is very generous of you! {hug}

I think maybe I need a day or two's break, before I attempt it again! :-D

And then another day or two before I chuck my crochet hooks into the pond.
