Cleaning of bitumen from parquet.

I am in need of some advice on what is the best way to clean up a reclaimed parquet floor , cleaning the bitumen of the underside?

The solvent is parafin or heating oil. If it is thickly pasted with the stuff you could heat it with a gas torch, and scrape off the majority, but do it carefully. Then clean the remainder with parafin. When you have finished wipe all over with thinners to completely degrease them.

If you want to stay healthy, do not use solvents in an area where there is a naked flame!
