diy help- floor tilesdiy help- floor tilesI laid some vinyl floor tiles a couple of years in the kitchen and they're completely stuck, but now I've got some ceramic ones to put down instead as they look nicer. Can I just lay them on top of the vinyl or do I have to rip the old ones up? It's just a normal tiling grout I've got as well. Xx

Re: diy help- floor tilesYoull need to take them up, and use the correct adhesive. They will lift and ruin the new floor eventually.
Is it a wooden or concrete floor? It's it's wooden you'll need to put down 18mm ply otherwise the tiles will crack with the movement of the floor, also you'll need to use flexible adhesive on a wooden floor. Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.

Re: diy help- floor tilesYou can get a big floor scraper to make it easier to take the tiles up, wear gloves as your hands will get ripped to bits otherwise.
