Had a fall this morning
Had a fall this morningOn going out to see the chickens this morning, I stepped down a step, immediately slipped on the frost and went down bang. It is a wooden step and didn't look frosty.
I fell onto my left side, hip is sore but working alright, knee is sore also, but as I sit here, I have a bag of frozen peas on the egg shapead lump that is on the top of my foot. Very painful to touch, so can't put shoes on but hopefull ity will go down today. I must have banged my foot on the edge of the step when falling. At the time I was carrying a bowl of porrige which I threw all over myself. I feel so annoyed with myself with being laid up when we have brilliant warm sunshine. All I can do is be lazy and sit about. I am now a widow and live with my memories.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut - Ernest Hemingway Re: Had a fall this morningOuch..... if it doesn't go down, it is A & E for you.

If you can't be a good example........ you will just have to be a horrible warning
Re: Had a fall this morningOuch, it all sounds painful, agree with Wendy, if does`nt go down, take a trip to A&E to make sure nothing broken. Its quite easy to fracture bones in foot foot, I did it years ago by my foot just going over on a step. In those days it was 6 weeks in plaster of paris
Hugs and wishing you well. Re: Had a fall this morningIs it a burst blood vessel? As a teenager I fell off my bike and the back of my hand sprouted an egg. Doctor told me to put a cold compress on it. I can't remember it being painful, and I carried on almost as usual, though a foot would be different. 50 years on and I can still see a slight lump. Re: Had a fall this morningGet your man to paint the step with paint mixed with sharp sand. It's a cheap form of non-slip paint and is often used on boat decks.
It fits in with the frugal aspect of this site. Alternativley, lay of the falling over water if you indulge! Mike Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.
Re: Had a fall this morningOh ouch! Poor you - hope it feels better really soon xx
