Outing Myself Tomorrow
Outing Myself TomorrowFor the first time, I am going to publicly use my walker tomorrow. I have been doing my best to manage without it for months, but it's getting too hard. I'm going to a basketball game for my grandson, and it's just too long a walk from the parking lot. I thought about not going, but I do want to support him, so pride be damned. My problems are COPD and a hip that really needs replacing. Double-whammy, darn it! Wish me courage and luck, please.
Re: Outing Myself TomorrowYou go for it American Lady !!!!
Better to go out with a walker and support your boy than be stuck inside...you will be great and he will love the fact you got there walker and all ¸.•´¸.•*´¨) ¸.•*¨)✰

Re: Outing Myself TomorrowThanks, Manda. That's exactly what I need to hear.
Re: Outing Myself TomorrowAli's dad got very wobbly on his feet even with walking sticks and was getting a bit down with not being able to go far and feeling unsafe. Then a few years ago I took him to an army reunion weekend with all the other WW2 veterens several of whom had wheely walkers. He spoke to them all about them and they told him they were the best thing they'd got in years. He decided to get one and hasn't looked back since, he's off like a long dog now and his walker even has a bag thingy attached so he can transport his scotch.
Just think of it as you would a pair of glasses it helps a part of your body to work a bit better. Dom Ali Woks My World

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut - Ernest Hemingway
Re: Outing Myself TomorrowI can't agree more with everyone else. Life is too short to worry about what other people think so forget your pride, use your walker and you will have a new lease of life. It will give you lots more confidence to do the things that have been difficult recently.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: Outing Myself TomorrowJust go for it American lady and enjoy the game, have a great time.
