Julie's Feathered Friends

Post by julieann »

Hi everyone, this thread is such a good idea, I'm so looking forward to reading about everyones chickeny adventures! So I thought I would start a thread for my girls. I have 6 girls two silkies Shirley and Ella, 2 pekins Millie and Petal and two hybrids Betty Boop and Marylin. Had a bit of a bad day yesterday, not feeling too good so had to get dd to feed and water them, her face wasn't a happy one as she made her way down the garden and realised she'd left the bucket of water on the door step; good job the garden is tiny so not far to walk! Once in there (the Walk-in-Run) her face brightened and who's wouldn't being greeted by such lovely girls :-D I have covered most of the run with tarp so caring for the girls is not an unpleasant experience. I'm hoping 2013 will be dryer than 2012 though, the rain does get you down! Still a bit off colour today so I am doing the basics only the clean out will have to wait until the weekend. .....and no my being ill is not self inflicted despite it being 1st jan, not a drop passed my lips last night!

Thank you Sandy.

Just been out to let dogs out for last pee and to check all is okay with girls (bit paranoid since fox visit earlier in year} and my outside light has gone. Must remember to get a new bulb tomorrow as the back is very dark, you wouldn't think I was on an estate!

Youre set up is similar to mine - altho your lawn is in much better nick than mine - I'm looking forward to the spring and getting lots of bedding plants in the pots and some new bunting - mine is yuk now!
