Don't tell anyone yet but I haven't had a ciggy yet this year.

The kids (and Nick) are always nagging at me to give up and I've tried so many times before. Each time when I fail the look of disappointment on their faces makes me feel so guilty and then I reach for the fags even more :oops:

So this time I haven't told them. Funnily enough I feel more positive about this attempt than previous ones.

Well done, Lucy. Even cutting down would be an achievement, so none for two days is something to be proud of.

Well done. It will be the very best thing you have ever done.
Get help if you need it and sometimes it helps not to tell. Just tell your smoker friends, you have just had one. Because they will try to get you to start again.

Good luck Lucy, i was an occasional smoker and it was the thought of my family which made me stop, that was 8 years ago and I've never regretted it. )t'

Good for you Lucy however I wouldn’t be fooled into the cutting down being a start thing; I must have cut down a thousand times over 25+ years as most smokers probably have, go for broke but do it quietly.

Wise words from Wendy, smokers will often subconsciously or otherwise try and coerce other smokers away from stopping (you are not actually quitting anything, you are trying to break an additive cycle), I failed in my quest to stop several times when a well-meaning friend suggested that just one wouldn’t hurt of course once you have nicotine back in your system all the hard work is undone. Anyway a very quiet >fi< and best of luck Lucy )t'

Five or six years free of tobacco now and it's the best thing.

Thats great Lucy. It's not just your health that will reap the benefits but your purse as well )t'. I gave up 9 years ago after smoking for 30 yrs. We bought a new Static caravan and I didn't want it smelling of cig smoke so I stopped the day it was delivered and not touched one since. Amazing what incentive will do )t'

Fingers crossed for you Lucy! {hug} I gave up at new year 13 years ago and have not looked back. )c(

I found I could tell myself that I hadn't smoked all year! Really seemed to do it for me - gave me a sort of 'head start' .

Just think....enough money fora new pandora bead each week....... +f+
