Cold soup to lower blood pressure?

Post by fabindia »

Check out this:

My blood pressure isn't wildly out of control but I do have to work hard to keep it at an acceptable level - like lots of exercise and watching what I eat and drink. This looks easy enough to prepare so I might give it a try.

Can’t argue that the fresh fruits and vegetables aren’t good for you but as they say in the article it does fly in the face of pretty much every other article I have read on the subject of salt in our diets. I would be cautious.

I love gazpacho and I see that recipe only has 1/2 a teaspoon of salt in there.

NHS guidelines say aim for a teaspoon a day maximum, but salt does raise the blood pressure.

I made it and added no salt! It was fine. I had gazpacho in a restaurant before and this was OK by comparison.
