Starling visitors

Post by Maggie1 »

Yesterday when I was out in the garden I couldn't believe the number of leather jackets (larva of Daddy long legs) around. That evening the lawn was covered in starlings after Kernow had cut the grass.
This morning we got invaded again, but this time it was out the front. It was obviously the parents feeding babies time.

There is 7 in this little tiny patch so you can imaging what the whole flock looked like

Ooo so sweet.
We used to get loads, but I never see them in the garden now.
But this morning we remarked on the large flocks on the field, when we walked the dogs

Same as Wendy, we used to have lots of them but only a few now. Lots of people dont seem to like them but I think they are very pretty when up close. Enjoy them.

Its a lovely photo of a fella taking his responsibilities seriously Maggie :-D

When my worked out at some stables in the country we used to see a huge flock every morning, the way they swirled and moved as if one was a stunning display.

I agree about the colours Mo, we do get some in our garden and they shine and shimmer they are lovely looking little birds

I cant remember why nowbut round here some people disliked starlings and said they were pests >shrug< Lindaxx
And then there was one, Again!!!!
