Smokey Joe

Post by Totally Scrambled »

On Friday and Saturday I cut the tall hedge and started a bonfire to get rid of it all. Sunday weeding and pruning and burning it all
Monday cut another hedge and more pruning and weeding and burning it all.
Tuesday cut veg garden hedge, cleared a ton of stinging nettles and burnt it all.
Today I was hacking down the top hedge which had got out of hand and I've burnt it all.
The bonfire has never gone out and is still going strong.
I'll see what else I can find around the garden that needs burning and see if I can get in the Guiness Book of records for the longest bonfire :-D

I'm not suprised. Just imagine what would happen if all that peat caught fire.

It happens quite a bit. We have helicopters going over keeping an eye out for bog fires, but also watch for bonfires. They give hefty fines for bonfires. We are only allowed bonfires in June for 1 day and thats because its a saints day.
