Hi Lisa, loving the owl, he/she is so cute and the material for the phone cover is very pretty, I love materials like that. I find that the price of stuff in charity shops can vary so much, the ones in our town charge silly prices but in the next town stuff is a lot cheaper.

Thanks Mrs Boodles. I already have someone who wants an owl made as a doorstop :-D
And the material for the phone cover was from a fabric bundle on fleabay, I have 7 other pieces like that which are so pretty.

Just search "Fabric bundle" or something like that, there's quite a few, most of them come in different colours too :)
Not sure it's worth £4.50 for 8 20x20cm pieces, but it is great quality material, nice and thick.

Search on line for the swap, buy and sell sites local to you, worth asking for any fabrics, you would be surprised how many people have bits of fabrics lying around or bundled away, there are some gorgeous fabrics, my favourite was £16 a metre yike* I am not very proficient so thought better of it!

Glad you are enjoying it, I am onto another project at the moment, but my mind works faster than I can sew!!

Ohh that's a good idea! I looked for a sewing machine on the sell/swap sites but never thought of asking for material :-D

Can I ask what you're working on, or is it a surprise? +f+

If they are only 20 x 20 cm pieces and you are going to put them on your selling website people will not be able to order a particular item in a different colour (e.g. a fox the colour of the second phone case).

Where is the link to your shop? Or is it not up and running yet?

That's interesting. If I type x 2 but leave out the space I get x2

I don't plan on people being able to order them in different colours, Mo. Just whatever the picture is they'll get :)
The shops not up and running yet, want to get a few more things made first :-D

Lisa,
On Ebay have you searched Fat Quarter bundles?
Usually a good range and a reasonable price and you get larger pieces of fabric/

I kept seeing fat quarter mentioned when looking at fabric but I got confused by it (doesn't take much {rofwl} ) does it have an actual size, or does it depend on how large the roll of fabric is? Some places said it was a quarter of a yard, is that right?

The technical answer is that it is half a yard of material cut along the selvage side for half the width of the roll which is typically 44" wide.
See being married to a quilter has it's uses :-D
