Stopped smoking and losing weight

Post by redd_angel55 »

Silly me, I stopped smoking last year for 8 months and it went really well until I had a very painful infection in my jaw, moved house ect and started again 3 months ago. I put on 3st 11lbs over the past year. :? Especially annoying as it took me nearly 2yrs to lose 4st! {mr.angry}
So, last Monday (why is it always Mondays?)I decided to stop smoking again and lose the weight I gained at the same time!
First week smoke free and I lost 3.5lbs! :-D
Am pretty pleased with that and neither was too difficult!

Thank you! :-D
The plan is while I am concentrating on what I eat, it'll distract me from smoking and the other way round. So far it's working!
OH bought me an electronic cigarette a couple of years ago, but personally I don't like it. I want to get away from the "hand-to-mouth" action of smoking and they are not breaking this habit. Am using patches and nicotine mouth spray, which I use whenever I feel I might crumble. At the moment I still have to use the spray quite a lot, but if it keeps me for smoking, so be it!

Week 2 smoke free and another 2lbs off! That's 5.5lbs off in 2 weeks! )c(

The weightloss is going very well, no problems at all, but had a few wobbly moments craving cigarettes. Mainly when I can't sleep, but resisted!

{rofwl} Linda...super being...far from it! I am as weak as they come! It would be so much harder if I was on an actual diet, but I am not. I still eat what I ate before, just far less of it!
From what I read in the weight loss thread, you are doing really well too Linda! )t'

Week 3 smoke free! I stopped using the patches 5 days ago. Not because I wanted to, ran out and had no money to get new ones, so just used the Nicorette Mist spray. Actually, it was fine, so I decided not to buy anymore patches. Stocked up on spray for our holiday!
Lost 1.5lbs this week...total of 7lbs in 3weeks. Am very pleased with this loss as we had 2 BBQ's and my youngest birthday party, so plenty of lovely food in abundance! :-D
