Plant ID, please?

Post by rhubarb93 »

We have a plant in our garden - actually lots of it - that is just coming to the end of flowering. It is around 2ft tall, with bright magenta flowers, 5-petalled, around 1" across, and silver grey foliage.
Sorry, no pics, haven't got into doing that.
It seeds fairly freely round the garden.
I'm never sure if it is annual, and I should just pull them out once they have seeded, of if they are perennial and I should cut them back. So ID would be useful if anyone has this plant and knows what it is.
Thanks!

Lychnis coronaria?

Herbaceous short lived plant (few years) that seeds itself. Leave it if you like or remove it's up to you.
