Butterfies

Post by urbanchicks »

I have had so many butterflies in the garden over the last few weeks, flying around the garden and feeding on the Buddhlia (sp) in the early evening,I know they are a declining species
so we must plant trees, shrubs and plants that encourage all wildlife of all sorts.

I think they must have moved up with you.

The majority of butterflies here have been Cabbage White, but the Swallows seem to nab them in mid air.

We have had lots of the cabbage butterflies too, but only one or two tortoiseshell ones, nothing else sadly. The year before last we had so many Red Admirals, and those beautiful little powder blue moths? so pretty. But this year not so many.
