personalising a dolls house

Post by albertajune »

I am gradually getting together 2 dolls houses and thought that I would like to make them personal for whoever in the family eventually takes them on. I decided to miniaturise photographs. Some are displayed in frames and some I will put into scanned and miniaturised photo packets and leave laying around.
Just thought that you might be interested, especially if any of you have dolls houses yourselves.

This one is a photo that I took from my sitting room window and is signed by me.

The one on the wall is of two of my now nearly middle aged children when they were young and jumping off a breakwater when on holiday.

This one in the dolls house bedroom is of my family which was taken at my son's wedding.

This last one over the cream sideboard (I've not finished making it yet) is of my little Smudgy who died just over a year ago.

I hope that they keep memories alive.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

How lovely.
I loved my dolls house.
My Uncle Bert made it for me, out of two orange boxes and he made them into a beautiful house for me. I suppose I was about 5.
Something to treasure

If you can't be a good example........
you will just have to be a horrible warning

That was before the marketing men invented Action Man - a doll for boys.
