Re: winter colourful plantsWinter hardy ..but some will die in severe winters ..
Erica,s ... Winter flowering Heathers ..... flower in Winter in whites / reds and pinks . Universal Winter pansies .. Loads of colours and mix,s to chose from , my local b & q warehouse a tray of 24 is a fiver .. euonymus varieties... Evergreens in emerald and gold or silver . Skimia japonica Most varieties of viburnham flower in winter . Also you can get colour from leaf foilage (like carax and other grasses) and bark (like the dogwoods) Also consider berries for winter interest from cotoneaster , pernettya mucronata ( fantastic ) , pyracantha etc Conifers ...Golds / blues and light greens to contrast with other winter plants . Some are not suitable for tubs as such long term , but will be fine when small and can be planted in the Garden when you do your summer pots . Yet to do mine but can post up the pictures if you want
