I don't know if they are frost proof but I have pansies, cyclamen and chrysnthemums at the moment, they do seem to make it a little more cheerful I have some wall flowers planted but they won't flower yet, am sure someone who knows will be along soon )t'

Winter hardy ..but some will die in severe winters ..

Erica,s ...

Winter flowering Heathers ..... flower in Winter in whites / reds and pinks .

Universal Winter pansies ..

Loads of colours and mix,s to chose from , my local b & q warehouse a tray of 24 is a fiver ..

euonymus varieties...

Evergreens in emerald and gold or silver .

Skimia japonica

Most varieties of viburnham flower in winter .

Also you can get colour from leaf foilage (like carax and other grasses) and bark (like the dogwoods)

Also consider berries for winter interest from cotoneaster , pernettya mucronata ( fantastic ) , pyracantha etc

Conifers ...Golds / blues and light greens to contrast with other winter plants .

Some are not suitable for tubs as such long term , but will be fine when small and can be planted in the Garden when you do your summer pots .

Yet to do mine but can post up the pictures if you want )t'

Far from knowing what I am doing. I have Hellebores and they flower all winter.
I love them. I think you can get pink and white
