Library sell offs

Post by albertajune »

My library always has used library books for sale. Yesterday I bought 6 novels of assorted authors for 20p each and 4 craft magazines, each a couple of months old, normally £3.99 for 20p each. OH did pay 60p each for his books as they are still in the shops now and had been donated.
If any readers want books, do ask if you library sells withdrawn ones. Our library also sells off, videos, music CD's and childrens books. This is also a good way of trying out new authors.
I am now a widow and live with my memories.

Mine sold off an entire set of Ordnance Survey Maps recently - sadly I didn't spot them before all the southerly ones were gone and it was mostly Scottish ones left {cry}
But well worth looking out for

Amuses me a bit.
Books I am collecting appear in the 'out-dated books sale', then they are reissued in paperback and the library buys a new set.

Used to be the place to find books you wanted to read, but when my daughter was reading Swallows & Amazons they'd all been sold off.

That's good June.

We have something similar in Ashford, a 'Gateway', run by the Council.

There are hundred's of books for free, but you're requested to donate £1 for them (very few people do!).
