Puff Pastry

Post by fishpond »

Over to the peeps that knows something about pastry.
Making Mince Pies with some bought Puff Pastry that has been in the freezer for about 3 years ( homemade mincemeat from 2 years ago(with a generous dash of brandy )c+)
Puff Pastry didn't puff, tastes not dissimilar to cardboard.
Any ideas or should I just open another bottle of Brandy? )hic( )hic( )hic(

I'm not an expert but if the pastry has been in the freezer for three years, could you have killed it?

Saved you a glass, but, if it is not collected, it is not expected to last longer than Xmas day.

Do we still have the DTL Xmas party? )b(

We bought pre-made puff pastry from the supermarket at the weekend. Made apple turnovers and the cooked beautifully. I think the 3 years in storage may not have helped :?
