Christmas Eve Supermarket bargains !!

Post by Richard »

Got some huge bargains last year at Tesco, went down about 2 hours before closing, ridiculous prices for stuff to go in the Freezer, meat etc.

Anyone doing the same this year?

My Son works at As and der and I asked him today if there was going to be a certain time for reduction, all depends on how much is left and the date so a bit of a gamble, I am happy to have a look )t'

We've been filling the freezer for years on a Christmas Eve, usually lasts til February. Mind you have found some " do not freeze " amongst the frozen hall, but I'm still here to tell the tale, although I probably wouldn't do it on purpose ! >dum<

Son of Morris closes at 5pm, Sane spurires at 6pm, and Has-daas at 7pm ( we don't have Tess Coze) so it's a walkabout tomorrow! )x(

Not so much as last year

Anyways....

5 x Pkts Crumpets 75p down to 8p each
2 x 6 Doughnuts £1.60 down to 30p
Ham £4.40 down to £1.10
Parma Ham £1.90 down to 24p
Mini Scottish Salmon & Champagne en Croutes £4 down to 50p
Rump Steak £11.40 down to £2.35
2 Loafs of Five Seed down to 20p each

Could have picked up a Turkey for less than £10 but didn't fancy spending two hours cutting it for freezing !!

So should have been £33, I paid 5.00 give or take a few pence.

So I'm quite happy and only 4 miles there and back in the car. Had to get some other bits anyway.

Our daughter went to Te.co this morning and they had got a whole aisle covered in black plastic with cards, crackers etc but you couldn't get at them. So i take it that will be the sale things on Boxing Day

I'm convinced that not all supermarkets reduce their prices so much - yes, some price reductions here but none of the real bargains that I hear about. I did pick up a fresh turkey down to £13 from £20 - in some ways I'm pleased as I'd much rather have a turkey than a chicken for Christmas dinner which I had planned on, in other ways I'm a bit annoyed because I had gone to the shops with a list in mind which I stuck to, but the turkey took me over my cash budget.

Good work there !!

Strange they hadn't reduced the Christmas stuff at my local Tesco. As Maggie says, maybe saving it for later in the week.

Loads of Staff changing stuff around though!

Crooksfoot special aisle. Obviously can't do it today ready for opening Boxing Day. Crackers candles loads of stuff all behind black plastic. Perhaps its New Year stuff or stuff bought in for a so called sale.
