Be-Ro Recipe Book - who still has one?

Post by fabindia »

Mrs Fab made scones last night using the recipe from her Be-Ro Recipe book; 37th Edition, 1982.

We've always had one, and I remember my mom having one too. I wonder how many generations this actually goes back.

I'm sure it was recommended at school in Home-Ec to get one, I never did though.
Is/was Be-Ro a brand of flour?

Yes still is. Apparently, the business was originally started in our neck of the woods, Newcastle, was taken over by Rank Hovis and is now part of Premier Foods.

I use my Grandmas Bero book all the time. We bought a new one from Morrisons that has recipes for the microwave.

I sent away for mine in the 60's Its the 24th edition. Lovely plain cooking without all the wine and cream that they seem to put in recipes nowadays
