Brilliant video What a lovely garden, super fish and your girls look gorgeous! They all look so clean and happy, when I had a sussex bless her she always looked a bit grubby. Have to ask what was that windy noise I heard?

It wasnt me honest , i often make random stupid noises to them as i like to watch there heads turn and i love that puzzled look they have when they hear anything new

Let them out of the run for 15 minutes to day , they loved it !

Tommorow i,m going to get some stakes and netting as i dont trust them not to fly on the shed roof then over in next doors

Two more ex bats being added today
Picking them up from the collection point in Leigh this morning .

Two little hens whos lives will change forever .

I hope they settle in well and enjoy there freedom , will take some pictures later

Goodness me, one of your new girls looks in a sorry state! It's always a shock to see them, even when you know they'll be like that. I bet she'll feather up nicely now that she's in a good home.

Good on you Drummy for giving some poor girls a new chance. You'll love having ex batts, they are just the friendliest and most inquisitive things.

I started off with ex bats in September so already have three

The one in the sorry state is very feisty , she manged to get through a tiny gap in the mesh (now sorted) and was running around with the others when i just got home and trying to show them she is boss ..lol..

They seem very active and enjoying themselves so fingers crossed they will get back to full fitness .

I think mine were the worse two , i let the others there have first pick as i,m not bothered what they look like as long as i can give them a better life from now on .

I,ve named one Meloney and the other Kerry

First full day of freedom in there forever home....

My wife was shocked this morning at the condition of one of them .

Both ate plenty this morning and had a good drink , one even layed an egg ! but i dont know which one it was .
plenty of poop done in the hen house over night which all looks normal . They seem a little cold and keep going inside , at least the shed has plenty of room .
