Bit of a project!

Post by p.penn »

Ooops! Had to go into town today and accidentally fell into the YMCA charity shop! .ang.

I was trying to be really good, then saw this and saw it's potential. I ummmed and ahhhed, and then decided that for £4 towards a good cause, it was really worth a spruce up! It is quite large - approx 2ft long, 18 inches wide and a foot high. It is covered in cobwebs and the top is really yukky, but I reckon it will be fab when it is done :-D

The only thing is that I felt a bit guilty as I knew my daughter would love it, so sort of gave it to her when she popped in for tea. She didn't seem overwhelmed, so when I saw her later, I said I would have it, and she instantly laid claim to it by telling me she was buying the paint for it tomorrow and had some Cath Kidston fabric to use on the top! {rofwl}

Trust you to remember the table {rofwl} In fact, in the second pic, the box is photographed on it {rofwl} {rofwl}

Dom - I was going to reply to your comment with the obvious, but then thought I would get into trouble )grin2(

A good useful size box which will look lovely when given a makeover. What do you think it was used for originally? It would make a good sewing or knitting box with room to put work in hand, or even for storing magazines. Looking forward to seeing it finished. )t'

I'm not sure shat the original use was June, although I think it was possibly for the bathroom or bedroom.

Or lounge. {rofwl}

I made a cover for an old ikea pouffe out of crochet squares and it looks great - I'm sure it will look brilliant when you've finished with it.

I don't think I will have much input now as my daughter is definitely going to do it up! I am just really pleased that it is going to an appreciative home :-D

I will post a pic when it is done. I expect we would have done it in different colours as I was thinking lloyd loom colour - perhaps '60s kitchen blue or morris minor green (maybe cream but probably not). I am sure she will do a great job on it though and she has the advantage of being the lucky owner of a little spare Cath Kidston rose fabric! :-D
