You are organised! Only just seen your post asking if I got rid of the weeds in the lawn. Last summer I poured boiling water on each plantain, and managed to kill all the grass off surrounding them. The plantains shrivelled and died, but after a few days, they were sprouting again. They are just starting to come back on the lawn, and I will leave OH to deal with them this time.

All the best for your veggies and hens.

Hello Spreckly

I have a moss problem on mine more moss than grass }hairout{ will treat what is left and see what happens.Thank you for your well wishes ,will post some pics once I have them.

Saturday 1st March 2014

Been busy this morning setting tomato seeds my usual moneymaker, trying gardeners delight and a yellow one called ildi. Must stress these are for indoor planting in the greenhouse and would advice if your planting outdoors leave any sowing until the end of March or into April.

How I do mine is 2or3 seeds in a small pot ,should be through in 7to10 days ,once well through look for the best of the 3 plants and pull the other 2 out and discard.Once through remove the clear top ,replace at night ,keep compost damp not wet ,I find a hand held spray better for keeping moist )t'

Will be off just after dinner to get me chooks ,will post some pics tomorrow )t'
