I made a bagI made a bagI made a bag. I have lots of fabric which was left over from the Scrapstore after it closed down. This is like upholstery fabric, or maybe could be used for heavy curtains, I had just enough for one bag. Usually I would make the outer and the lining separately, insert the lining, add the handles, and sew two rows around the top edge. This time I made it in two halves, then joined them together. I couldn't get the seam under the machine foot it was so thick, so I took the foot off and sewed it without. I used a surplus pillow case for the lining.
It's very roomy and strong. Could be used to carry books about, or a bit of shopping after work. Most people like the longer handles. I am not a fan of having a bag over one shoulder, I much prefer a longer handle to go across my body, for better security. Not bad for saying it cost me nothing. Re: I made a bagIt's lovely, and certainly not bad for nothing, well done
Re: I made a bagThat type of bag seems to be the thing this year, according to most of the mags. Nice to have something that is a one off. Well done

Re: I made a bagThank you for your comments. I don't need the bag, so I decided to give it away as a prize. A lady in Sheffield has won it, she is chuffed. I am chuffed that she is chuffed, ha ha. Posting it off this afternoon.
