I made a raggyrugI made a raggyrugMy mum used to make rag rugs, and I used to help her. Now I am making them. This is my second. I had too many teeshirts, and also bought some at car boot sales and charity shops. Cut into five inch long strips. The backing is a piece of netting I retrieved from the back of a lorry ten years ago, knew it would come in useful for something. It measures 2 ft 7 ins by 4 ft 3 ins, and will look lovely in my bedroom.
The back of it is almost as nice as the front. I haven't got any netting left now, I don't think I will be making any more just yet. Ilona
Re: I made a raggyrugNow that I really really like, colours are lovely.
Re: I made a raggyrugI'd need dark glasses to step out of bed onto that early in the morning!
Very cheerful. The ones I remember my Nanny* making had a lot more black in them. * we lived upstairs in their house, but Nanny and Poppy were more like Grandparents than landlords. Dance caller. http://mo-dance-caller.blogspot.co.uk/p/what-i-do.html

Re: I made a raggyrugI love rag rugs and by coincidence, I've just started to get the bits together to make one. My mum also made them and I can remember her sitting each night working on them. When money was hard, it was make or do without. My job was to cut the strips of cloth for her, which I also remember as I wanted to go out and play.
Yours is so lovely and colourful. Seeing it makes me want to get on with mine which will no doubt take ages to make that first one. Well done I am now a widow and live with my memories.
Re: I made a raggyrugI have been making one for ages now but since getting pup it has been put on hold...looking forward to getting it finished. Yours is lovely MQ, the back is much neater than mine!!
No girls at the moment but look forward to getting more in the future. Proud mummy to Hector, a Bedlington Terrier x Jack Russell
