slugs
slugsDoes anyone have any ideas about stoping slugs eating my runner beans, we have planted them twice now after the 1st lot were destroyed in 2 days, and now they are attacking the 2nd lot.We have ltried egg shells, sand and netting and they still get a meal.even considerered giving up growing beans.
Re: slugsCopper rings are supposed to be good, also a grapefruit cut in half flesh scooped out and filled with beer, they drink it get tiddled and fall in I suppose you could use shallow ish dishes too
Re: slugsHi,
One year old soot is good, many Chimney Sweeps drop it off at Allotments. Just encircle the plant - do not get any on the leaf. Eggshells, anything sharp. Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
Re: slugsI go out every night with a torch and scoop them up with a spoon, and relocate them to pastures new, the surrounding gardens, erm, at speed and as far away as possible. No doubt some of them come back, but at least there aren't so many of them.
