The good old Sewerage Farms !

Post by Richard »

Do you remember the days where if you lived near a Sewerage Farm and wanted some Tomatoes, Rasberries or anything else which came from seed, you'd pop down and have a freebie pick your own!

I know Sewerage is a lot cleaner now, but it did have it's benefits !!

Sort of recycled tomatoes ,they have a different way of treating in my neck of the woods before being pumped 20 miles out to sea .What a waste not nice i know but would make some of the best fertiliser going.I live where my wife's family lived and then only had bucket and chuck it ,certain parts of the garden grow anything in profusion ,while others demand manure every year ,guess which bits grow in profusion. yike* )t' Yep you guessed it and that was over 50 years ago )t'
A leek in the hand,is worth 2 in the roof.

Me too. Years ago, I knew a guy who worked at the local sewerage works - he grew the best tomatoes in town :-)
