Microwave jam

Is it possible / safer / easier than on the stove? Any tips?
This is a Granny & 5 yr old project. Plum jam of some sort.

Google recipes vary wildly.

I haven't made jam in a microwave myself but I do have these guys little jam making book and it's very good so their recipe for microwave jam might be worth checking out:
