Feeling sorry for myself

Post by albertajune »

As some will know, I had a wisdom tooth extracted last week which is still very tender in the gum and jaw area.

I have now strained my knee and have been in severe pain. I saw a locum GP, a couple of days ago who told me that the strain was causing the pain and that I should potter about to keep the leg exercised. Since then the pain has become so severe that I had to go back to luckily see my own GP today who thinks that besides the sprain, my knee which is a bit arthritic is causing nerve trouble down the lower part of my leg and foot. At the moment I am having to use 2 walking sticks, which I keep dropping or knocking over and sod's law, everything that I touch seems to end up on the floor, making me have to stick the leg out ballerina fashion in order to pick it up. I am absolutely fed up with myself and just hope that things don't come in threes.

I've just come back from having an X-ray, been given strong pain killers and been told to rest the leg and keep it up as much as possible. I hate not being active and having to ask OH to do things for me, but as long as the dog, cat and chooks are cared for, the rest will have to go.

There, I've got my miserable moan out and now feel a bit better. Thank goodness for the lane.

Oh June, I really feel for you {hug}

I slipped over on the plane coming back from holiday last weekend, hurt my medial ligament and been hobbling around on crutches all week, dosed up on tramadol. Moaning definitely helps, as does a large glass of wine and slice of cake :-D

I hope you're up and about soon >fi< {hug}

Oh Lucy, I didn't know that you had a leg problem as well. I hope that yours is now on the mend. {hug}

Moaning definitely does help as does the slice of cake. I do enjoy a glass of wine but my pain killers have in very large lettering. DRINK NO ALCOHOL. Today I go onto anti inflamitary tabs so hopefully I can enjoy a glass or two with them )hic(

I think you are fully justified in feeling thoroughly fed-up! Being in pain is exhausting, not being able to function as normal is frustrating. A big {hug}

How is your knee doing June? I hope it's healing well {hug}

Mine is feeling a lot better and I'm off the crutches now (they were making my shoulders snd wrists hurt too!). I'm praying it is fully better soon as I am taking part in a 24 hour walk for Cancer Research UK in 10 days time >fi< >fi<

Glad yours is coming along well Lucy and hopefully you will do your charity walk.

Mine is coming along fine. The anti inflammatory tabs seem to be doing their job. I only now use the stick if I am going to have to walk rather than pottering. Not much fun is it having to hobble about but we will be fine in no time. )t'
