Eye cream

Post by sandy »

My friend is having to put eye cream in her cat's eyes everynight. So far she has got just one drop in ! She wraps her cat in a towel while her mum tried to out the cream in, they are now both stressing out, reckon the vet could do it for them but then they would've have to pay every visit!

Oh yes, cats and eye probs to sort are not easy, not imho anyway.

Perhaps it would be better if just one person dealt with the cat/cream. I usually kneel on the floor, get cat wrapped in towel and then put them between my legs with my ankles crossed so they cannot go backwards, which seems to be the favourite trick.

All that said, it is an art tbh. I hope your friend succeeds.

Cats aren't the easiest pet to deal with are they!! We were lucky when we had to do the same with our cat, no problem with her letting me do it.

I wonder if you are getting a bit stressed at the thought of having to put the cream in and puss is picking up on this before you even do the job. I do agree with Gwen to wrap the cat as she says from behind and put it in as quickly as possible. If you wrap firmly enough the cat can't go anywhere and be less stressed.

A rotten job I know so >gl<

I can just picture an arthritic 83 year old and a less than able 60 uear old getting a cat between their knees {rofwl} I do think I am going to have to volunteer to help them bless them. Their cat is their surrogate baby

Another tip that I forgot about it to warm the cream up. Put it in your pocket/hand for a while before trying to use it.
