Many areas are blighted by discarded rubber bands ..the culprit your postman. There is a petition here which also has a few interesting links.

If you see these rubber bands discarded in your neighbourhood have a word with your postman and remind him of the dangers to our wildlife, their bosses have told them but they are still doing it. myroyalmail
