Tilly is looking for a home now.

Post by wendy »

This is the beautiful Tilly. The rescue GSD I have been walking/training for the past two and a half weeks.
She is up for rehoming.
She has to go to a home that has had GSD's before and no kiddies, as she is a stray and we just don't know. She is a gentle soul, so will need a relatively quiet home. Only reward based training.
I have her walking nicely, coming back, sit, down, stand, a finish, go hide and twirls.
So she has some basics, that just need to be continued. She is totally gorgeous and needs someone special to love her.

Wendy, she is lovely and I do hope she finds a forever home. I was always a bit wary german shepherds until I looked after two for friends while they were on holiday and found out what a great dog they are.

They certainly are Mrs B. I was born into a house with them and they have been in my life, more on than off.
We have had other breeds. But there has always been a German Shepherd amongst them.
The Ferrari of the dog World. Sadly, like with the cars, if you don't read the manual and service right it can go horrible wrong.
In the right hands they are wonderful animals.

She looks such a beautiful girl. I'm sure it won't be too long before she finds the home with loving people that she deserves. {hug}

Good looking dog Wendy )t' , hope she finds a suitable home soon, I would be tempted to take her but I'm afraid Tbone would probably stick in Tillys throat and choke her! )w(

She is lovely, Wendy. My word, you have accomplished a lot with her in two and a half weeks. Do hope she gets a first class home.

OH had a GSD before we met, my most feared breed, and he was gorgeous. When I was introduced to OH's family, there were half a dozen GSD's milling round me, I hardly dared to move! When we lost Simba, we both said that if we could get one with the same temperament that he had, we would, but got a Rough Collie instead, and then a procession of Shelties.

I always felt so very safe with Simba around.

I am so glad she is looking for her forever home and I am sure she would be thanking you for all the time spent in helping her achieve this.

Everything crossed here for a very happy ending. XXX

Sadly no, SB. Thank you for asking. There are so many dogs that need homes.
I think they are going to pass her details onto Germen Shepherd Welfare, so they can put her on their website as well.
All irons in the fire.

Wendy, I take it Tilly is past the age of acceptance for something like the police force etc, or is that not an option for the re-homing process?.

She is a gentle soul, SB . I and the NAWT feel that type of work would be too stressful for her.
I do have a number of friends in security that would take her. But she wouldn't be able to cope.
But a good thought, though )t'

Tilly's new family are visiting her every day now. So I think they really want her.
They were with her today when I went to get her. All being well she should go home on Wednesday. It seems to be taking so long.
So I went to Valentina.
Hence I haven't walked or worked with her today. Just starting to get her more reliant on them and less so on me.
