Latest crochet project

Post by julie62 »

Just thought I'd share with you crocheteers. This is a ripple blanket I've just finished - it's the Lucy coastal ripple blanket in stylecraft dk. Yarn cost £25 which is pretty reasonable - lovely acrylic yarn. The cost in wool would be too much!

Oh wow, that is gorgeous! I guess you mean Lucy aka Attic 24? I have made a smaller blanket in her ripple pattern but those colours are fabulous and very her!

I am off to Yarndale this weekend, I wonder what I will come back with :-D there are loads of exhibitors, far more I think than last year and it was very busy then....

I'm off to Yarndale at weekend too ... very excited ... really enjoyed it last year and spent a fortune!

The ripple is a bit difficult at first but once you get past the first few rows its easy peasy - it's just getting the hills and valleys right at the beginning - then you've got the pattern memorised and it just flies off the hook )like(

I just couldn't work out how to get the first row into the chain. I did another couple of ripple afterwards, which was fine, but it was all puckered up at the first proper row. }hairout{ it was where she said to go under 2 loops in the chain >dum<

There's quite a crowd of us meeting up there on the day which will be nice. Me and my knitting chum have rented a cottage nearby for 3 nights, we shall spend the time when we aren't at the show knitting or crocheting, drinking tea or wine and having a great natter :-D There's 11 of us going for an Indian on the Friday night too. It would have been lovely to meet up Helen, maybe next year? And I could show you how to ripple, s'easy once you know how and a crocheter of your calibre would whizz through it )t'

Got to admit I tend to go just into one loop when I start - I cant tell the difference tbh.

I'm going to wear this to yarndale .... kateegg ... if you see me say hello! Unless its boiling hot of course which isn't looking likely today.
