Sparrowhawk - a nice morning surprise

Post by Richard »

I've spent ages quietly walking the sides of the fields and through the woods here to get a good view of the local Sparrowhawks - all to no avail.

I was sitting in the Kitchen this morning (thought I hadn't seen the birds on the Bird Feeders for ten minutes or so), looked out and there it was.

Luckily my Camera is never far away from me - took this through the glass.

Feeling quite chuffed!

Glad you are back, lovely pic, what a shame they kill the sparrows, I have to be careful where to to put the feeders as I am also visited by them, he/she not worried about my presence in the garden.

It's a tricky one, sparrowhawks use feeding stations like takeaways but many garden birds rely on bird tables to survive especially in winter.
