Heron spotted

Post by Richard »

Hi

I went to a place called Heron Lake this morning, about three miles away hoping to catch a photo of a Heron.
All I saw were two Mallards!!

On the way home I stopped at the Lake behind the Athletics Stadium, about half a mile away from my place, walked round a corner and....bingo !!

Don't you just love those knees!
It's always exciting to spot a heron & they're so huge & majestic in flight. One of
my favourite birds.

I was surprised last time we walked along the Dee Estuary at Parkgate to see lots of white mini-herons. There weren't any cranes there years ago.
