I'm amazed you got those great pics Richard, I thought kingfishers were really shy.
All I ever see of them is a blue flash!

It was perching on a fence post next to wetland.

About 40 meters away but I have a pretty goodish lens.

I've been waiting a while to get a shot of one, like you, just sen the flash!

Beautiful pictures.... mind you it's a lovely place..I used to ride along the shore from Swanwick to Warsash...lovely.
