At last, Goldfinches !
At last, Goldfinches !Hi
You may recall my long quest to get Goldfinches in the Garden, I've had Nyger Seeds up for quite a few months changing it once in a while as they got damp etc. Had just about given up all hope when this morning I glanced out and bingo, four of them !!! I didn't have the camera but here's a shot I took at Netley at the weekend.... So beautiful aren't they! Richard New Member? Re: At last, Goldfinches !If you wanted a photo of one you should have come round our place. We have one that visits every day and knocks on my workshop's window throughout the day.

Re: At last, Goldfinches !They are such stunning colours, aren't they. Like Bea, and despite nyger seeds, we have not had any goldfinches this winter. Normally we get them regulalrly, they seem to live in the big fir tree that our neighbour refuses to cut down - she doesn't garden at all. So we have a "wildlife" garden next door.
Re: At last, Goldfinches !They love all our seedy weeds.

Re: At last, Goldfinches !Good thinking Mo.
It's a bit like me putting houses and homes up for this and that when really, my Garden is a wildlife Haven on it's own !!! Richard New Member? Get more from the Forum and join in 'Members Chat' - you're very welcome
Re: At last, Goldfinches !I had several pairs of them around the niger seed feeder every day, when I ran out
of seed for a few days they deserted us & even when I refilled the feeder they didn't come back - until I put up a feeder of sunflower hearts, now I have daily visits of Goldfinches again - praps they fancied a change!
