A Baking First (Well For Me Anyway)

Post by Totally Scrambled »

Got bored and thought I'd try doing a plait loaf.
Bread making easy peesey but all the recipes for a plaited loaf are by women.
They are all blatent sexists as at the end they just blythly state, "now plait the three strands of dough together."
Do any of them explain to us chaps how to do this? No they don't }hairout{
Seeing as I've never had enough hair or the inclination to plait anything, it made it difficult.
After a bit of research on utube and a quick practice run through using laces with Ali checking my technique I came up with something that almst looks the part.
I managed to make one strand fatter than the others which made it a little lopsided but I'm callng it a "Rustic Plait Loaf" which allows for any lack of perfection :-D

If I'd made it a little otter it would have burnt.

Nice one.

Now you've mastered the '3 braid' plait, you'll soon be moving on to the '5'.

It tasted good. It was a wholemeal loaf and may have been a liitle on the heavier side of light but I think I may have forgotten to add some Vit C powder to the mix.
Next time I'll remember to add it and see if it fluffs up more )t'
